Good idea Koesie. Always thought NV would be better suited for a noob game at the end =) Since I'm mafia deprived I'd be in just for the lulz, don't mind me if there's already enough vets tho.

No game can ever suffer from your presence. That makes three officially recognized CC vets, which I think is a good number. If there are no more newbies, I'll gladly fill it up with additional vets, but we'll see how it goes.

At this rate, expect the game to begin tomorrow (EST).

Still fairly new.

I only played a couple times on other sites, and it was just sending in who to kill if you were the mafia and voting in the thread no matter what (e.g. vanilla). But I was never super-involved or anything.

So I know how it works and everything, but I don't think that that qualifies me as "experienced".

this thread is for new players to join a game of some sort but it contains no details about what the game actually is. inexperienced players might know but new would not.

i consider myself new & do not know enough to decide if i want to become inexperienced.

I don't have time for a detailed explanation, but if you're curious, take a look at the first post in the sticky.

Essentially, mafia is a forum game in which two or more factions fight each other for victory. Typically, there is a town faction and a mafia faction. Town doesn't know each other, while mafia does.

During the day phase, all players discuss in the game thread and vote who's most likely to be mafia. Once a majority is reached, the suspect is lynched and his role revealed. Then, night begins.

At night, mafia kills one of the town players. Also, those players with special powers (cop investigations, doctor protections, etc.) pick their targets.

When the new day breaks, the mod announces who's dead. The discussion then begins again, but now town should have more information. The lynching and nightkilling cycle continues until one side has won.
