p.s. i will eat your children
For me personally, there is no question that traditional classes are far more effective. I don't have the personal self-discipline for online classes (I'm not good at studying...so I'm a teacher! <grin>). For online classes to be effective, the individual must have the self-discipline to make them so.Jace-N wrote:I am writing a paper for my college Lit Class. I did not! (Err...I mean...)jonesthecurl wrote:I'm old enough to have experienced "distance learning" when it relied on the post, not the internet. I've also studied (and taught) live, and via computer (come to think of it, I've never taught online, though I did write computer-aided learning programs for a while ).
I've voted for live teaching, but I have reservations. It depends very much on the subject, the student, the number of students, the teacher, and a lot of other things too (cost, time available, venue, convenience, timetable, etc). Some of the least efective instuction I was ever given was by lecturers or teachers who bored me/sent me to sleep
Sure you didn't. With that straight face, monotone voice who wouldn't fall asleep?Woodruff wrote:I did not! Really depends on the degree and the person studying.Jace-N wrote:I am writing a paper for my college Lit Class. It is a persuasive paper on whether Online Classes or Traditional classes are more effective when earning a college degree. I would like to know your opinion.
