As mentioned in the thread jefjef linked, the Foundry is now closed for some refurbishment. In a week or so we'll be ready to hit the road again ;-)

Behind the scenes, maps are being made... I've already updated both my maps, made one entirely new one, and participated on the revamp contest... that's 4 maps total ;)

No, cairns had a cutoff at 5 simultaneously. It's just seemed like he's done more since he would start a new one almost immediately upon one reaching Beta (or Quench).

Well actually, one is a joint project by me and isaiah but I'm making the graphics on that one...

* one in new projects - Salem's Switch
* Gallipoli awaiting an xml update in Dead/Vacation Projects (plus Rail Asia and Trafalgar)
* and there is 11 (soon to be 12) new ones sitting in the Mapmakers Guild

I was speaking of active development. I was certain you had a zillion ideas sitting in the background, but you don't post topics on it, and you've abandoned plenty of ideas (either temporarily or permanently). From your counterexample, you have only 3. Funny thing about frame of reference. :)

Well, you should say what you mean...and if that's the case, then 3 are in the foundry, and 12 in the Mapmakers Guild, the later which will be in the Drafts when the Foundry re-opens.

I can hang on... I have a lot of catching up to do on some maps... plus photoshop crashed after I made a bunch of change to 13 colonies and I had to redo them all. Let that be a lesson kids, save frequently! :P

Anyway, is there a set date for when the foundry is set to reopen or is it still up in the air?

I'd imagine with changes on this site and CC's amazing ability to do things slowly and surely that setting a date too soon is just making a commitment to break a promise, but I'm curious to know how everything is going.

Hmm... I always understood that as some time in the new year, presumably January, though not necessarily January 1st. New year is pretty ambiguous though, could be December 2010

the Foundry Forums (with the exception of Final Forge/Foundry Discussions) will close over the weekend of Dec 12/13th, and will remain closed for business until the end of the year.
Seems pretty clear to me...

Hmmm, did it say end of the year? My fault, I thought it said "open sometime in the new year."

Hmm... I think we need to plan the Great Christmas Cartography Caper and get some of that Banana Rum. I dunno if it will get the foundry up and running sooner, but I want some rum.
