Concise description:

• Set it up so I can choose to receive an email alert when someone leaves a rating for me.

Specifics:

• I just had someone leave me a bad rating because he was angry. I won the game. I was cordial in the chat. I did a little talking but absolutely none of it was inappropriate or questionable at all. My strategy was sound and patient.He rated everyone else in the game higher. He waited until the last second to rip me on the rating and I can't respond. Really, the only way method we have of preventing people from leaving angry, illogical ratings is if they will have reciprocal ratings left back for them.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:

• Angry and vindictive ratings will diminish, leading to more accurate ratings, which should reflect the caliber of a player.

Just ignore your rating. It won't matter once you have received more than 100 or so. 4 out of 5 rate you all 5s regardless of what you do, and 1 out of every 10 only rate people poorly when they lose. Very rarely do people actually take the time to accurately rate. I know that I don't. It's pretty much pointless.

That being said, if your rating drops below 4.0, something is actually wrong with your behavior or your play. You really have to work to get your rating that low, because you're making people who would otherwise give you all 5 stars rate you poorly because you were that bad.

It looks to me like that guy gives 4 stars on most ratings. He dinged you down to 3 on fair play and attitude. Presumably he wasn't especially pleased with your comments in game chat. I read through it and don't think you said anything inappropriate, but some people aren't especially keen on alliances of any sort. If he was really trying to hurt your rating, he would have given you 1 star on fair play instead of 3. As 72o said, don't worry about it. Colonel Krink doesn't appear to give ratings below 3 stars except in very clear cases, so he clearly doesn't have a problem with ratings abuse. If you want to complain about someone, I'd suggest going after the guy that gave you a really poor rating: tubmen. That one appears to give consistently bad ratings and could reasonably be brought to the attention of the Cheating and Abuse moderators.
