That is a hell of a lot less convenient then having named games in the PRIVATE section.. I dont want to get a list of game numbers and go trolling through looking for ones to join. I would like to be able to go through private games and see that they are clearly labeled "elite" or "colonel games" and join them. Also, this would be great for rt people, as they could name it R/T and everyone they had just called out would know to go to that game.AK_iceman wrote:I don't think it's even remotely necessary to name private games. Just make a private game and mail your "elite" buddies the game #.AAFitz wrote:we are not asking to spam your tourney page....
he is asking to name the games in the private section
and i never said anyone was fed up....
Which is the point of my suggestion, to clean up the tourney page by moving non tourneys to the private games page, while still keeping the game joining as convenient.AK_iceman wrote:I'm not blaming anybody. We made rules before for "Elite" games to function with tourney privs, but the games snowballed and now the tourney page is a mess, just as you said. I don't think it's anybodys fault, but it does need to change.
.
thats what we did....wicked wrote:What's wrong with just setting up standard passwords for your private games?
Maybe instead of a usergroup you could start a thread in the callouts and post game #'s for Elite games in there?
The problem here is not in the standard password but in finding the games with the settings you want. "Elite" games doesn't cover just one type of game but all setting types. What's wrong with just setting up standard passwords for your private games?
there are 20 pages of players with your score or better....the colonels take up half of the first page, and from the bottom of the colonels there is still a 1500 point difference to the top...99 percent are premiums...i myself have paid for 3 premiums, and will pay for a fourth if i ever get my friend ed to start some games...boberz wrote:no names that is a slippery slope to a tacky cheesy website with no respect.
but you can do that without name if you want an etreme example of a site that is really tacky/cheesy go to neopets.com there you get to name just about everything, numbers are more proffesional.AAFitz wrote:there are 20 pages of players with your score or better....the colonels take up half of the first page, and from the bottom of the colonels there is still a 1500 point difference to the top...99 percent are premiums...i myself have paid for 3 premiums, and will pay for a fourth if i ever get my friend ed to start some games...boberz wrote:no names that is a slippery slope to a tacky cheesy website with no respect.
and, the reason i like to play these guys and gals, is because i play them a lot, they are always a challenge, always respectful, and I can trust them,
letting the players that play the most have the opportunity to play together when they want easily isnt cheesy...its common sense
