i'll start with your last . you're playing a manual deployment game. that means that on your first turn all you get to do is deploy troops.
now in order- you play this map with caution. those who play it often are very, very good,. it's a tough map and not good for beginners. you can search the strategy forum for tips on circus maximus. stick with more traditional maps until you get your sea legs.
you only win standard games by killing all your opponents (unless there is an objective for the map, in this case there isn't).
good luck and let me know if you ever want to play some friendly games on maps you want to try out.
There is no fog rule and I am no gentleman.

Depends on what metric you use...
The coolest is squishyg

the first thing you have to know is that you can only attack forward (counterclockwise) and diagonally forward. You can't attack sideways or clockwise. Besides that, listen to squishy
Being foed by KLOBBER? Though that's a lot of honor going around...

Its not that difficult of a map if you have a good understanding of how to play CC. I am 8-1 on it and I would not say I am any good at that particular map (i.e. I would not start a game on that map to break a losing streak). If you want a real tough map try Iraq.

I think what makes Circus Maximus more difficult than many is because the strategy is VERY different than on any other map.

If you are just starting out, wizard192845, I'd stick for a little while to the early maps you played. Get some good games under your belt, and then branch out to stranger/non-standard/more complex maps as you find your feet.
