Hidden Bonuses...?

Black Baron gave me an idea in the Game Chat for Napoleonic Europe:
2010-09-16 22:48:34 - Black Baron: 2nd time for me, its a nice big map with loads of little bonusses hidden, so have fun..
2010-09-16 22:48:53 - Black Baron: "hidden", not really, but you know ;)
Would the idea of "hidden bonuses" really be possible without favoring the people who've played it the most? I would have the bonuses in the xml but not explained in the map. Of course then I'd know all the secrets... Idk. Thoughts?

If you receive the bonus it will be always listed in the gamelog, so it won't be 100% hidden...
But in any case, as explained in the foundry guidelines: "Any information you need to know to play a map should be easy to gather by looking at the map itself." (http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 3#p2372351)
So a map with hidden bonus can't be considered clear and userfriendly; playing on a map on which you are more experienced can give you an advantage on a less experienced opponent, but the rules and game mechanics must be clear at beginning for everyone.
It's the first golden rule of all games, not only on CC ;)

Given that CC is first and foremost a strategy game, we take as many steps to eliminate luck from the game (the dice are bad enough :P )

Napoleonic Europe is a very straightforward map I think. I really don't get why people think it's difficult. There are other maps though that have really confusing bonus-structures.
