New Briarsburg Mafia

It is 1947 and the aftermath of WWII is only just being realized. The internal peace that America achieved during wartime is now lost. New Briarsburg is a dark, industrial town in the middle of New Jersey. As the men return to the states from war, not all return home to their wives and families. Many return lost or mad, unable to forget the horrors of wartime and unable to cope with everyday society. In New Briarsburg, two seedy individuals united these violent and dangerous individuals and hoped to create a crime syndicate surpassing in infamy that of Al Capone's mafia in the 20's. As the crime rate soared in the city, the citizens rose up to meet the new threat. From all over the country, citizens flocked to the city to either join the rising mafia faction, or to achieve their own fame in bringing down the criminal organizations. Who would prevail?

Features:

1. Each player will receive a full bio of their character, including a short background and their motives in the game. Some of these bios will be used in special ways during the game.

2. A 1 year Premium Prize will be awarded to one of the victors. Once the game is over, I randomly pick one player from the surviving winners and he or she will receive a free one year premium membership.

3. Completely non-vanilla roles.

If you are interested or have any suggestions please post below. This probably won't happen for another couple weeks (at least!) as I want a couple of the games I'm in to finish so that I can devote my time to this.

Sure. It's kinda cool to put a prize but with my luck I doubt I'd get it I think the admins can split the prize though so you might want to check with them so that they'd consider it a tourney of sorts.

Well, idk exactly how many we have, but I suspect we have over 20 mafia players already. Maybe we can entice a few newbies to try their hand at mafia in order to win the prize and maybe even a couple oldies might return. Thats just my hope though. Probably won't happen.

I'm still trying to iron out the details. Basically I made a quick sketch of the setup when I bored today in class, made a couple new roles, and devised a basic theme. I'm trying my best to make it so that every player has a role that can be challenging yet fun to play, while at the same time not giving everyone a doctor or cop style role. I've mapped out about 13 of the roles so far and I've done a few balancing tests and it seems to be pretty good. I'm hoping I will be able to use it. If not though, I'll just shelve it for a few months and just run a small silly game instead.

I think the admins can split the prize though so you might want to check with them so that they'd consider it a tourney of sorts.

Yea that would be awesome if we got some site recognition. It would be cool if they counted it as a tourney and gave out awards. It probably won't happen, but if I get enough support for this I will definitely suggest it to them.

Unless you have the mafia operating in and around CC maps, you're unlikely to get this considered a tournament.
