Why can't you get more than 30 tournament medals?

If this was implemented it would become a race as to who can create the most tournaments. We'd see swarms of 16 player single elimination tournaments in a bid to get medals.

There are those that will always go after all records. Most medals is an attractive one, if there is no restriction on how many medals you can get for running tournaments I'm absolutely positive a select few people will start throwing them up in numbers countless to drive their medal count into the hundreds, thus at the same time negating the value of the medals people get from team games, assassin, terminator, etc

Well having the restriction of only 4 tournaments per organiser in the open section will keep things under control.

Even if people did go for medal records then so what? I think for someone to spend their own time organising a tournament for the community (be it a 16 player tournant or not) deserves to get a medal.

And if this could be seen as a problem why not just allow it for only winners medals.

Indeed. Besides, for all glory hunters, there's still the tournament top lists with organizers/wins - no need for more than 30 medals.

also, the restriction is on sign-ups only. there is no limit to how many ongoing tournaments you can have at once

I think this issue has always irked people. Especially those who have run tournaments for medals. I've always supported the idea of extending the medal amount to whatever is needed to show all the tournaments a person has run and if he/she wants those tournaments under his/her profile then it shouldn't be stopped by CC. I think sometimes Lack and Co forgets that tournaments are run by volunteers who get very little, if at all, respect and thanks from the official "sources" of CC. So, what I'm trying to say, if people run tournaments for medals then so be it and lackattack should support it because he has no-pay volunteers keeping his players entertained.

I'm not saying that it's going to be easy extending medals to 50 or 75 or 100 but I think lackattack should consider it because if giving out different pixels keeps people happy then it's a small price to pay for the huge job tournament orgsanisers are doing for the site.

Hey-It does not matter to me but I do think it is silly that it stops at 30--since we have the tourney hall tabs that keep track now that kind of takes the place of the medal number so that is cool.

There is another conversation about limiting ongoing but I am not sure where that will lead. I myself ran 45 ongoing at my high and that was way too much so I do support limiting ongoing to 20 (another conversation though). I do not think there will be much more additions to the starting and running of tourneys if they change the limit anyway--and even if they run more simple tourneys they still have to put the work in and the demand to fill them will also need to be there.

I do like the recognition, but the reality is most players that run tourneys do it because that is what they like doing and getting a virtual trophy does not add too much significance to what they do.

Whew--I am with you 100% now--that looks so pretty. I am taking a picture and I will add it to the picture of my real trophies from my foosball days.

In all being serious I must say if CC were to give the recognition for all hosted and won tourneys it would not hurt anyone. It would however give credit to the free time spent hosting tourneys and the achievement of winning tourneys no matter how small or big the tourney was. I know in my mind when I see the tourneys I have won--there are special ones that stick out--just like the special tourneys I won playing foosball.

Well, what I was trying to say is, we never got a response if this can be fix (The amount of medals that any player deserve)

I support zz idea! If you win a tourney, you deserve a trophy for that, meaning, there should be an update in regards of this issue.

Imagine Michael Schumacher, Michael Phelps, Barcelona FC, or any successful team/player around the world that is too good and wins a lot of tournaments, events or whatever and the organizer at the ceremony saying: "You have too many trophies that Im not gonna give you more! Keep track of them in your agenda/notebook."

Im not trying to blame anybody here. Instead, I have a suggestion:

We can create different types of trophies, and instead of putting the Roman Number where the Plaque goes, we can use regular numbers. Another solution is to create 3 different color of trophies and assign ranges to each one:

BRONZE TROPHY:
From 1 to 75 tournament wins.



SILVER TROPHY:
From 76 to 200 tournament wins.

Right now HighlanderAttack and soon Blitzaholic are the players who will have this one on their profile.
HA will have Bronze and Silver Showing on his profile.


GOLD TROPHY:
From 201 to unlimited tournament wins.



How about creating a pool to see if other CC players and TO think about this idea or other possible solutions?

Interesting idea - if this were to progress then I would suggest different limits (which might mean Blitz and HA would already have gold) - currently gold medals are within achievable limits - 200 tournament titles would take most of us members years to achieve.

oh this would be very elite..
seen as a community how many % even has 1 tournament-win? how many % have more than 5? more than 10?
100? seems high.. but then again might add more players to tournaments and in that case im all for it..
