Space map

Post by jkneen95 »

I was telling my friend about this website today and explaining how there are so many different maps available. He thought of this idea, which I don't think we have so far as a map option. What if we had a map that with many different galaxies, such as the Milky Way, the Andromeda, and the Sombrero Galaxy? Each galaxy would be an area with a troop bonus, and each territory would be a solar or planetary system. However there would be a twist to this map - each time a system/territory is attacked, a planet or moon would be destroyed. This would mean, that if a territory was attacked too often, then it would be destroyed completely. However, if a territory had been damaged previously, yet left alone for say, for arguments sake, 8 rounds, then a moon or planet would be recreated, as happens through rock, asteroids and comets being drawn together through gravity. The usual types of gameplay would be available for this map.

So what are your thoughts? This is my first map suggestion so I am curious and eager to see what peoples comments. :)

Well, seeing as galaxies have billions of stars, it would be kinda tough fitting them all in on a map...

Those things are not currently possible to do.

Well, earth has billions of sqaure meters, but we manage to find room for all of them nonetheless ;)

Hmpf. I was gonna link to a thread about the various XML tags, which could tell you what is possible or not, but I can't find it. Mostly because searching for "XML" doesn't yield any results!

Anyways, I'm sure we could find room for another star map. Go for it!

well ngl thats disappointing about it not being possible, but surely at the very least a space map would be a good idea? As far as I know, we don't have any. and each galaxy or system wouldn't need to contain every piece of rock there, just the main ones if it was too difficult

[Moved]

This map has been moved into the Ideas subforum, as it does not meet the criteria for a Working Draft:
Drafting Room Guidelines

To be considered a Working Draft a project must be more than just an idea; a Draft should have a clear thematic focus, a plan for how the gameplay will work, and a basic image which should include:
  • 1. Territory Labels - temporary names or numbers will suffice, and are always open to change.
    2. Borders/Paths/Impassables - it should be made clear where territories do/do not connect.
    3. Bonus Areas - where combinations/groups of territories will award a bonus, this should be indicated on the map.
    4. Legend - speculative bonus values and explanations of any attack rules or gameplay features.
Draft images should generally not be larger than 630x600px (small image) or 840x800px (large image).
