So I came up with a new idea: How about a series of 64 tournaments, of varying format and on varying boards, each with a theme? The winner of each gets to participate in the GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP, a NCAA basketball style tournament, with predetermined settings for each matchup! Win more than one, find yourself on multiple bracket lines and more chances to win it all. The winner of tournament 1 will get first pick of the 64 slots, tournament 2 second pick, and so on. Some tournaments will have teams, some singles. Some have Fog related settings, some Spoils settings, some on certain boards, some on any board.
Info about the Grand Finale and about the Series is available here: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=140939
This tournament is a 1 v 1 tournament featuring only 16 players. Each round will center on a tic-tac-toe board. Each space on the board represents a game. The board will be set up as below
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
Each space on the board will have a set map and settings, which will be different in each round. The 5 space will always represent Random, Auto, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Sunny in every round. Play will begin on this, and the other 8 maps will be revealed at the start of each round. The player who wins this game claims the 5 spot. The player who loses the opening game chooses which of the other 8 will be played for next. The winner of that game claims that spot. Choice of maps will alternate between players from here on. A player wins if they own three consecutive maps (1-2-3, 4-5-6, 7-8-9, 1-4-7, 2-5-8, 3-6-9, 1-5-9, or 3-5-7) If all nine maps are owned but neither player has a tic-tac-toe, the players may challenge for an opponents map simultaneously (that is, the two games are considered to end at the same time). Win the map you already own, you keep it. Lose it, and control is transferred. Play will continue until one player gets a three in a row.
Single elimination (so four rounds of tic-tac-toe will be played).
Freemiums are welcome, as only one game will be played at a time (unless a cat's game occurs or the players agree to play more than one at once). I am willing to resend invites if necessary.
There were 16 items in your list. Here they are in random order (The item in parentheses after your name will replace the number of the map in the board below your matchup if you hold the space):
Round 2 will start shortly, but the new grid is still being determined. Probably by the end of the weekend, the first games of the next round will be out.
