I dunno if anyone has seen this, but there is a map contest over at They Draw and Travel. There's going to be $2000 prize cash awarded, the first place getting $1000 and the other four at $200. The contest is to draw a map of your favorite place. The deadline is a little tight, but its feasible if you're quick, July 24th.

nice link - those are very different styles of map. Very little "map" elements to a lot of them - more art really. But I may take a stab at that. Not much time though -
make sure you guys also post here when you enter the contest in case we can vote or something

well i have a shit load to do on this in the next few days. I really hope I can have something to submit. crazy busy this time of year. but this is what I have right now. I'm going to be adding some "flare" to the edges and the map itself, along with labeling.

Good luck! And yes, be sure to let us know if there is a public vote or something. It would be great if your art could garner support from the rest of CC
that looks great IH. Keep in mind that deadline is today (Sunday) midnight USA Eastern Time. Like 10 hours from now. Not sure how that translates to Japan time
here's mine, quarter of the final size. Those maps were huge and pushed the limits of my laptop I work from. Yeah, I mapped Charleston SC again, my favorite city.
Wow... very beautiful. Very clean and crisp lines, a nice benefit from using a computer, but there is no absence of life in the map (which sometimes happens with computer images). I really regret not having visited Charleston yet, one day I suppose. I'll be using your map as a guide

I'll forgive you for orientating 2nd Battalion in the wrong direction relative to the Ashley by how damn beautiful the map is (for reference, 2nd battalion is almost directly facing away from the Ashley River).
beal you should get in touch put with all those companies and establishments you have put on the map get them to all vote for you (not that you need it!)
Beautiful effort, but then again we didn't expect anything less!
