Which do you think is the best?

We had this discussion awhile back but there is new info on the two yet to be released consoles.
I'm still going to go with the Xbox 360 but its hard to say until the other two come out.
Oh yeah its now the wii not the revolution

Whatever, xbox is the best, and here is why. Playstation's base model is going to be a butt load more than 360's top model,(i said butt load cause i don't know if its 100 or 200, but i think its one of the two) And they are incorporating this blue ray stuff. If i had to place bets on whether blue ray or HD dvds win out, i vote HD dvds, who wants to pay a grand just for the player? I don't. And nintendo is just ridiculous. That new controler....great, its new, its a cool concept, but not one that i will ever want to use.

sorry about the wii thing. I think the Wii is the best. sony i think is the worst. there is no point to it. the 360 is already out, and the Wii is very innovative. PS3 costs too much

Nintendo suck at marketing, but generally have the most innovative fun games and ideas. What annoys me about the Nintendo is for twelve year olds attitudes is that it's generally taken from a point of view that games like Resident Evil or GTA are so called mature games, while games like SSBM are kiddie games. However just looking at gameplay, SSBM is far more refined and is a lot more difficult at the top end. Yet people only see a game as being "adult" if it contains adult themes. Personally I prefer my games to be good.

PS3 will probably be PS2 with better graphics, and will probably win in terms of sales just based on marketing and the brand name. Xbox 360 has yet to really wow me, possibly because I haven't been paying it much attention.

Videogames bore me of late, perhaps because I'm getting older, but mostly I think because it's just more of the same. The current generation of consoles really brought us nothing but better graphics. Even the gamecube failed to incorporate any real new groundbreaking stuff, sure there were some cool GBA link up options, but it was all a bit... meh. Oh and before anyone brings up the Eye Toy, games like that have been circulating with webcams for years. So yeah, I'm really looking forward to the Wii's controller, looks interesting.

I like to think that i won't bother getting one of these new systems. I'm content with halo 2 on my xbox. But when halo 3 comes out, i think i'll probably just end up buying a 360 just to play it. I'm sick, but i don't care.

Xbox belive that with Wii only costing around £120 which will be same as 360 soon that people can buy both instead of paying it all on one PS3.

Wolfman have you got over £500 to spend on the stuff you need for PS3 if so you could consider yourself lucky, but the PS3 is over specified.

As far as hardware goes I believe the PS3 is the best, but the price tag really hurts.

I eventually bought all three consoles last time around, first the PS2, then the Xbox, and finally I got a GC just to play Resident Evil 4.

The GC turned out to be the best thing I've ever bought

Girls love Mario Kart, guys love Mario Tennis, everyone loves Mario Party and MonkeyBall.. there's an unthreatening sense of pure fun with Nintendo that the other consoles just didn't offer. The GC is the reason we always go back to mine after a night out.

So this time I'll certainly buy the Wii, and I'm just not bothered about the others right now. The PS3 is stupidly expensive, and looks to be the console equivalent of a simple graphics card upgrade, (why didn't they improve the controller?) the 360 needs an HDTV to perform as it's designed to do (another £800. To play some games. Hmm.).. basically, the only console with anything new and exciting that makes me want to play it is the Wii.

Plus there'll be more MarioKart, and the chicks love MarioKart

actually that blue ray stuff lol and hd dvd.... umm hd dvd they say that hd dvd sucks to begin with and that its not going to catch on, hence why they said not to buy and hd dvd players because there are so few dvd's that are in hd.... and blue ray i cant remember hearing about that but eh...

i hate x-box for one simple reason, i will not feed bill gates...

blu-ray and hd-dvd (AOD)are two competing players/optical disc's for high def. dvd's (primarily) kinda like how they did with beta and vhs with tapes until eventually vhs won out ... (suprisingly the main reason they won out was because of their "adult entertainment" lineup) but right now not many movies are made using true hd film equipment (another little tidbit i think the first person to record in hd was nick cage's director brother) although ive seen that underworld is available in blue ray im not sure if its just an upconversion or not. I'm just gonna wait to see who wins out before purchasing one or the other besides they are both ridiculously overpriced right now with very few HD movies to play on them. HD-DVD is the cheaper of the two because its using the same red laser pickup instead of the blue laser with the blu-ray. HD-DVD can hold 20GB for the single layer 30GB for a dual layer versus 27GB/50GB for the blu-ray. just my two cents.

hmm i think the PS3 and the 360 are gonna be really close. But im gonna go with PS3 just cuz it will have blue ray, it will have a more powerfull graphics card and it comes with a HDD in the base model. The only thing wrong that i can see is that it is wayy over priced. Here is a sweet game comming out with the PS3

Well, the original PlayStation represented all that is good in gaming. It truly is depressing that Sony lost track of what made them great in the first place.
