I sent a message to someone saying 'if you eliminste yellow in europe i will eliminate them in usa' because i didnt think he would look at the game chat. Does this mean i cheated?
I had a guy do that , he was trying to get the other players to go along with him through pm's . The other players did not feel this was right and took the time to tell me about it through game chat. The player who did this (link85) was convinced that he did no wrong and tried to defend his choice of allience making , no one agreed with him and he received negatives as a result. The only negative I have submitted so far B.T.W. So yes in my opinion this could be looked apon as cheating and will not make you any friends , if the behaviour is a regular part of your game play. Sounds like you made a legitamate mistake so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
It happens to people when they are new. As I matter of fact I sent a message one time to a player asking for an alliance.
The only problem was I was asking Kwolf and sent it to Robinette.
OMG Good thing Robinette was nice about it. I make it a rule to never use pm's. I think all discussion should be in the chat so everyone can see. Then nobody can get upset about hidden alliances
It's a flaw in the rules, it just says that secret alliances are forbidden, but it doesn't say you can't form an alliance through PMs and then announce it in the gamechat.
Personally I file someone asking by pm under "extremely bad sportsmanship".
You could always write it in the gamechat and then pm the other guy telling him to read the gamechat before he takes his turn.
