in the 5+ years I have been here this idea has surfaced like a billion times.

the best way to do this, it has been decided before, is to find one of the most famous and classic middle game positions in a famous match, and have that as your set up and map.

do a search... I believe one chess map even made it deep into the process.

btw, i came to risk from a deep and long chess background. Played a lot of tournis and had a national rank at one time, though most people would not guess this about me.

I do sincerely hope someone does a chess match at some point.

And to be honest.. I think it would be best to make a 2 player map for this.

This is not a brag but I will admit in real life in the last 7 years I have lost 0 matches out of maybe 50.

But I quit online chess a long long time ago man. It is simply too easy for people to use a chess calculator to beat me.

I tried xbox and yahoo chess for about 6 months.. and I realized how I was getting beat by people that could not even tack together complete sentences...

You are probably great and probably we would have a blast playing, but unless I know you I would never trust that you were playing me straight up, and you to me probably either.

Won't be long. There is already formulas to predict everything except diplomacy. Luckily, most people can't use them or aren't bothered to.

@ Army ... my RL rating is about 1400 and so is my online rating ... I prefer 1 minute chess - more like a video game than chess!! .... but I like Knights because it combines everythinng good about CC and strategy like chess ... as I say challenge me anytime - reality is you will probably win ... lol

@ Doom ... I use IE rather than Firefox ... I understand that scriptmonkey on Firefox allows for scripting "magic" and I'm pretty sure I've seen the results of that "magic" ... it is a little depressing to watch!! My skill at CC isn't great but I cannot understand why anyone would use a script to win just for a few points. What, excuse the pun, is the point!!

@ Army ... back to your map - can you please mock up something so we can see what you mean?
