Doubles question

If I own an entire continent, I assume I would get the extra armies, but do my teammate and I both get the armies if we own the continent together? In other words, do I have to attack my teammate to get the benefit of extra armies? Thanks to whomever can help!

FAQ #28. Short answer: one or the other of you has to hold the whole continent.
