How many people have created CC accounts

I see that there are now 15,539 active players on the Scoreboard.
I'm just wondering how many total players there have been (active + inactive).
Anyone have an answer for that?

To that number we should take the multis, to know how many people.
And to know how many players, we should take out the members who haven't played any game

40,000 is completely wrong. A year ago it was below 20,000.
