Many CC members have been posting what medals they would like to see awarded by the Admins, and I have already seen many posts by Andy saying that more will come later. So to better help them decide which medals that the community members would like, I am starting a list in this thread. I will try to keep this list updated, and if any moderators come by, please update the list if you see that it needs it.

Ah, now I remember that thread. However, based on the current medals, lack designed them to be more hard-to-achieve game based rather than something that's quickly gained.

The next batch of medals (whenever that is...it could be a ways from now so don't get toooooo antsy,

) should focus on essential medals (I.E. though eliminating Lucky dice and the Double Kill/Running Riot etc are neat, they are more superfluous and can come later I think.)

Problem with this ... sometimes it is a needed and legitimate strategy (to get cards in escalating, for example), but you still might get negged... particularly from less experienced players or if you happen to lose (despite it being a decent strategy)

Cute, but 500 games is WAY too few.... should be more like 5000 or perhaps more.

ALSO, I definitely think there should be some kind of permanent award for anyone who gets conquerer ... maybe even giving the total points the person had at the time. (for this one ONLY, perhaps even a clickable "drop down" or "pop up" where you could find out who they beat, what map and what settings .. and the date)

I don't like the way the medals are awarded. The way they are awarded now it doesn't equate to skill. If a player plays a lot of games he's bound to get the medals in the end.

Would it be better if they were awarded on win percentage? For example for doubles 50% wins - bronze, 60% wins - silver, 70% wins - gold. Of course if a player achieves a medal and then goes below the percentage this should not be removed and there should be a criteria of say playing 100 games in a specific setting.

I would like to see a bronze medal for 500 wins (ANY) ,silver for 1000 and gold for 2000. also a medal for winning a 4-8 player singles game from 1 army on 1 terr.

hard to get medals are stupid if there aren't many. Only successful medal type system I've seen from Halo, which are more so trivial out of the way things. The long listed posted earlier I really like. That's what made XBOX360 gamerscores so addictive to people. You can't deny that having 50+ medals would cause people to try to get htem all. i have ZERO incentive to try for any medals atm.

1) total wins
1,000-bronze- 2,500-silver- 5,000 -gold

2) winning percentage ( 1,000 game minimum )
70-75% bronze
76-80% silver
81%- Gold

3) win streak is another good one but this can be staged

Johnny - you care way too much about the "staged" factor. Who cares? The medal system is to get something for yourself, just as multis can abuse to get higher ranks. Should we not have ranks because of that?

My point is that things that are more so trivial yet you have lots of them is what makes players enjoy them. You state that players can start 1 for each type of map to get to 50 maps, is that a big deal? Then let them do it and have the medal. I guess you could change it to "win at least once on each of 50 maps," but hte point remains. As said look at Halo2, it wasn't hard at ALL to get a double kill, yet it was still awesome getting them.

You yourself only bash noobs/recruits to get your number of wins up high, should we implement a rule stating that those games must be 15+ rounds, or that hte rank has to be sergeant 1st class and up?

I agree with Fabled. Just because JR thinks it's too easy doesn't mean the rest of us think it is. Nevertheless, I updated the list with the Total Wins and Win Percentage.

Not at all, I'm criticizing your suggestions, it's not flaming in the least sense. Someone else made a suggestion to which you criticized. I'm criticizing your critque, which is by all means on topic, as I support his suggestion.

no- he wasnt compaining about the "too easy", he was concerned about all the cheating suggestings that I brought to everyones attention

I was complaining about both - I was complaining that you said they were too easy to stage, thus making them too easy, while they aren't necessarily very easy to achieve at all, and the reasoning you gave I found inadequate. Either way, I would like to now stay on topic w/ the medals, as we are deviating (yet I feel I was on topic previously).

To be fair, any games could be staged, but that shouldn't be a reason to not have a medal for something. Perhaps we should have a "Cheaters Medal" for anyone who gets busted? If it was to replace all your other medals (i.e. if you 25 medals but got busted, you'd be stripped of your decorations and given the "Cheaters Medal") - that would be an incentive NOT to cheat?
