Turn it off if you don't like it, under game settings.

Will that revert the changes that it automatically added when it was added?

I simply don t understand why anyone would use it... I ve had to sit turns for clanmates that use it, and it is total shit. The stats are even all from a round back all of the time, i would be really curious to know what % of veteran users that are used to using greasemonkey add ons think the panel is an improvement, or actually use it.

From a mobile device it s just a total nightmare.

Still using the old one. I sat for a clan mate with it and I barely was able to take the turn. I guess it takes a little getting used to, especially if you are a bit tech challenged as I am

I started using the Panel interface from the day it was introduced.

Was there a lot of hassle getting used to it? Yes. Do its imitation BOB functions do an inferior job to the real BOB? Yes. Have I had to do some experimenting and wiggling to make it work the way I want? Yes.

So, yes, it has been a pain in the ass compared to using the old interface with the old add-ons. So why did I switch, and why have I stayed with Panel instead of switching back?

Because, the panel functions are a built-in part of the site. They are maintained by BW and/or paid admins who see it as their job to keep them running. And yeah, every time a new release is accompanied by new bugs, there is all kinds of wailing and gnashing of teeth in the forums, but bottom line is the site is trying to keep us as paying customers, and BW works 18-hour days until every last bug is hunted down and fixed.

Not so with BOB and the other add-ons. They are maintained entirely by volunteers, and back when volunteers were plentiful and site updates were few and far between, they worked pretty well. But now, with volunteers few and site updates frequent, it is getting harder and harder to get the add-ons maintained. BOB is still limping along, but has fewer functions than before. MapRank only works with some fiddling and jury-rigging. A lot of the others don't work at all.

Like it or not (and I don't like it, but such is life) the add-ons probably will fall further and further behind, while the built-in functions will over time get better and better.

I'm naturally resistant to change. I struggled with my Apple II long after most of my friends switched to PCs. Then I struggled along with my 286 long after all my friends had 486s and Pentiums. Then I had a 486 but I kept running DOS long after everyone else in the world was using Windows. And yeah, DOS with my custom batch files maintained an office far better than Windows crapware could, but in the end I still paid the price. I was frozen in place, and I constantly had to do more work to just to stay level, while Windows gradually ironed out the bugs and eventually became useful and (almost) reliable.

With the UI change on CC, I decided that this time, I wasn't going to torture myself clinging to the old ways. I was getting in on the new way right from day one, and sure enough, piece by piece it gets better and better. At this point it's still slightly inferior to add-on BOB, but not by much any more, and the time will come when it is better.

Used it once, never again. BOB is far more helpful as standard and without complications.

Suppose you could get used to it, but to be honest with the "floating" option of clickable maps, combined with BOB; I have everything I need right there. Easy mouse scroll to see the logs, while retaining a common location for all the buttons. Makes taking turns and strategising seamless.

I've used GM since late 2008. Zero point in this panel crap, just another wasted "idea"

EDIT: Very rarely I even press the buttons with CM anyway. All keyboard and mouse moves.

well in the first place I know that at least half of the people don't use the simple "side stats" thing. I'm totally lost without it. this is the first thing I look, almost before what happened on the map. I also need to know at all time what spoils I have in hand. I also need the entire BOB stats that show me each player's deploy and visible troops. the panel interface simply doesn't work and shows wrong stats for this which are essential.
the game chat is also something essential. I also want my assault odds calculator there. You just don't have enough space for all the information I want with the panel interface, and the information it gives you is wrong! I know BOB, map rank, assault odds, click maps, chat glove etc are going to disapear one day, but I will probably disapear with them anyway.

I'm not questionning the fact that BW is working his ass off for this site, but it doesn't mean I have to like it just because he worked hard on it.

I'm getting used to the panels on a computer but when I switch to phone or tablet... i just turn them off so i can see what's going on. everyday now. it's very hard for me to see the point of clicking 25 times on a mobile just to see what's happening when you can just turn them off and see everything. No twenty clicks, no fuss, no muss.

Although, when I'm taking a turn... I'm always on a desktop now w/ panels activated just to get the bob functionality. I'm trying to embrace it, but for me specifically, on a mobile or tablet... it's completely broken and useless so I'd rather do a couple extra clicks in the Game Settings and just turn it off. Others may have a different experience but that's just me.

Am i ready to quit? been thinking about it for a month or so but I'm hopeful that Whammy will get it straightened out soon. It seems these guys work day and night to make the site better so I'm hopeful.

Just tried it and not feeling it. Can't see anything but the map and the action panel at the bottom on my phone. Another site "improvement" fail. Switching back.

I keep asking...
Why isn't BoB as is, what was made a part of the site?

Probably the same reason they created a terrible version of clickable maps. People develop these scripts for nothing, for a long time, just to get ripped off by CC making a shit version of their own. What a great way to thank people for enhancing the game.

Personally....I like it. There are some things that are frustrating to not have available from BOB however. This is like buying a generic version of a name brand item. It is a little different but still performs functions nearly the same.

As far as the CC way of doing things....I have been reading more about this in multiple forums now. Never really considered CC would have to own it to avoid different infringements and maximize profit by personalizing a program or function. But honestly, at least we know where our money goes.

I mean, remember the time when you had to post in team chat what cards (color and territ) you had? Things have come a long way....why stop now? I think in the end though, it's all about the dollar. Corporate America at its finest.

There are some nice features, but the interface definitely needs work. I mean, why would the game log not be visible instantly? That's dumb.
