iAmCaffeine, having the last turn in a game with a 30 round limit, suicided into me, killing approximately 1,300 of my troops and handing the game to someone else. He had zero chance of winning the game so instead attacked me, for no reason. There was benefit to him in that game directly or in the overall tournament, yet he still decided to do it. As you can see from the log, he attacked one blue region that had 3 men on it, and then proceeded to take over 1,300 of my troops.

I can only presume these actions are in retaliation from an argument that we had in a clan war thread recently.

Attached are pictures of the game before his turn and after his turn, and then a comment made on my wall when I called him out on it.

Incorrect unfortunately. It does help my chances in the overall tournament.

Before this game ended nolefan5311 and the other player both had one win in eight games. I remain on zero. Working on the basis that nolefan is better than the other player, I decided my chances of moving up the scoreboard were better if the lesser player had two wins. Since we're not yet at elimination stages I have time to improve my current position, helped more by the fact that someone less likely to win games has more points than somebody who I do expect to win games.

I hope this makes sense.

there is a C&A precedent, by the way... as best i can remember, not one c&a report for a single game throwing at the round limit has been punished before... you can complain to the tournament organizer, but nothing will be done. not sure about foe and move on, could affect the tournament... the best i can tell you is, "suck it up, cupcake!" Otherwise totally agree with you, best you can hope nole is that it is noted, but nothing else.

Are you a mod? That's a legitimate question because you seem to have a lot of conviction in what you're saying.

And whether or not anything is officially done, pulling a stunt like that because of hurt feelings IS wrong.

This thread has devolved into you trying to convince me that I have wasted my time. That in and of itself seems like a waste of time. The mods will look at it or they won't and they'll warn him or they won't. Honestly, it's not that important to me either way. I just wanted it on the record. Maybe you think that's a waste of time. I don't really care.

My actions were not a result of "hurt feelings" nor in relation to any forum encounters. I have explained why I made the move.

I was never a moderator. I used to write for the Dispatch and at one point a current mod tried to promote me to moderation without my knowledge, but the process was blocked.

Wrong... With your logic you should have eliminated the weaker player... Why? You made stronger player your direct competition, so if you get points as much as the stronger player, you will not pass anyone in the rankings table. So what was your motive, to go up in the rankings table or something else? If I understand correctly the score is restarted in round 6.

In order for this to be clear: In the next 2 rounds(6 games) lets say weaker player gets 2 points, and both nole and cofeine take 3 points, who will be last on the ranking board? Caffeine 3 points, nole 4 points and weaker player 4 points.

It's a game...just play the game! It's called RISK-style play...so ATTACK THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE AND DON'T EVER LET GAMES END UP WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE 1300 + TROOPS!

We have tons of precedent that if losing the current game proceeds towards improving your chances in the tournament, then it does not constitute game throwing. You have a right to act strategically to advance your interests in the tournament. I guess the way you can reconcile that with the (admittedly misleading) wording of the rules is to consider the tournament as a whole to be a "meta-game" in which the individual games are just incidents.

This is true, but doesn't change the situation. I had to take the game from you to put myself in the best situation, as already explained.

I believe the foe list/tournament change was made primarily for clan wars, but that isn't the issue. The problem is having a round limit. Now that some games last 20, 30 or 50 rounds, you will see players who just start stacking from the very first turn. In two tournament games currently coming to an end I've been leading most of the game but someone has decided, even though they have no chance of winning, to try and stop me from doing so as well. Ironically, it's likely nolefan5311 will win that game as a result.

Current points of the 3 involved players is following: iAmCaffeine - 2394; nolefan5311 - 2356; igotaished - 1943
With my example(distribution of 8 tournament points):
Total points of all players: 6693 points, so for a victory every player can "use" 837 points. If chances are rounded both you and nole will get 3 tournament points(although in reality you guys should have less then 3), and igotaished should get 2 tournament points(in reality he should get more then 2). So I give both you and nole extra and undervalued igotaished for the sake of the argument.

Now you might consider that you have supernatural capabilities but that can not be seen You might also claim that you are Superman but plz dont blame me for sticking Kryptonite on you
In reality in the remaining 6 games the chances that you will advance to next round are rounded to 0%, but you have little better chances to surpass igotaished, although those chances are not high, and are very, very far from what you hope they are(much closer then 0 then to where you hope they are).

I also propose for the C/A team to bring decision after the tournament reaches round 6, so they can reevaluate the effects from iAmCaffeine actions based on what happen, and not what can happen.

that shouldn't be difficult, since no site rules were broken and not a single similar complaint has ever returned a verdict against the accused... however, i do like your "proposal" to the C&A mods... it is kind of cute, you can really tell you don't spend much time in the forums or C&A, for that matter... i'll try to go lightly on you when the accused is cleared... i am sure your intentions are well... to me, you just seem a little misguided. good luck!!! good luck sorting out this tough one, mods!!!-Jésus noir
