Are we counting drummers as musicians?

Freddy Mercury on vocals
Frank Zappa on lead guitar
Keith Moon on drums
Keith Emerson on keyboards
The fifth spot is so difficult. So many great choices. John Entwistle on bass? Duane Allman on guitars? Maybe David Bowie... we already know his voice pairs off great with Freddy's, he can play something like 30 instruments, and writes as well. And then Gram Parson, another versatile multi-instrumentalist that can also write and sing. Well, looking it all over, it has to be Bowie. Duane and Gram can join if you'll give me 7 spots, and John if I can get 8...

Taking it more seriously:
Billie Holliday- vocals
Mick Jagger- vocals
Jimi Hendrix- guitar
John Entwistle- bass guitar
Thelonius Monk- keys
Session players for anything else.

Mick Jagger's not dead, even if he does look like it some days.

Hah- good call, hmm, will have to think of someone to replace him. Someone with a good rock pedigree, but with a blues background. Any ideas? Chuck Berry, maybe?

I think it's fair to count any Stones' member as dead. I mean, they've all been half dead for decades, pretty much...

Interestingly, they recently released a blues rock album. Haven't listened to it yet, but I've heard some good things.

ITT someone forms several bands with no drummer. Seems unfamiliar with Led Zepplin. Also is slightly confused about old versus dead.
I'm considering, Keith Moon, Jimi Hendricks, Freddie Murcury and James Jamerson.
In reality I'd probably lean toward just getting more of the funk brothers since their track record is so solid.

You should watch Spinal Tap, and learn to spell.

Jimi Hendrix on guitar (right hand guitar restrung left handed)
Keith Moon on drums
John Entwistle on bass
I only need 3 for my band.

What do you get if you cross a drummer with a musician?
