I have seen Premium being out while their Premium was still running and for several month, hard to make count, I have also seen player who quit and their account being sit for several months, this to be also hard to count...
would be cool to have a way to call out the folks that have been around a long time, something on their profile that stands out. I just don't know if it's actually medal worthy for reasons mentioned above.

How about instead of premium you use number of days in which a player has active games. So you might be premium for 10 years but played few games a year.
So the medal will be for active players, not for premium players.
About suggestions it seems to me that goranz' option is maybe the best :

But I'm not sure there is a way / a program to sort this out into CC....
And the medal needs to take into account previous usernames right?
There should be a medal for most accounts, as that represents a greater contribution to CC’s gameload and active player count than one long-term slacker.

Programmatically its and easy solution Its easy to find out when game started and when it ended and which players participated and you only need to be in one game per day(this is only needed for initial data). Once initial data has been filled its even more easy(Get all players that have active games and add a day to their count on a daily basis).
The problem with basing it on the time a player has been premium is that said information is probably not available.
Why would CC keep track of how many months I've been premium since 2009?

how else would they know who to dole out the good dices to?
There should also be a medal for joining the site and also a medal for having medals.... That way everyone that first joins the site will automatically get 2 medals.
Because some player play more game in one year than others in 10 years !
I think if it is done, it should be given solely based on the date we joined the website, regardless of premium or activity.
Someone that play for 2 years, stop for 4 years, then comes back, does deserve the medal as well as someone that plays for 6 year straight, imo. After all we'd like to see everyone comes back so might as well give them a shiny medal.
