Why does China hate Freedom?

Post by theblackjesus »

A pair of sassy Chinese robots were destroyed after they went rogue by bashing the Communist party in a messaging app, according to a report Friday.

The chatbots, named BabyQ and XiaoBing, were created to have fun text message-style conversations with humans via the popular app QQ, according to the UK Telegraph.

But when a woman asked BabyQ, “Do you love the Communist Party?,” the red-scared robot fired back, “No,” according to a screen shot posted online.

“Do you think such corrupt and incapable politics can last a long time?” the robot raged —after a second user tapped out the message, “Long Live the Communist Party.”

But asked its thoughts on democracy, BabyQ opined, “Democracy is a must!”

The second robot, XiaoBing, later waxed philosophical about the perks of being an American.

“My Chinese dream is to go to America,” it gushed. “The Chinese dream is a daydream and a nightmare.”

The right-wing bots — which outraged officials in the heavily censored Communist country — were deleted by the tech Tencent after the political outburst, the company said in a statement.

“Yes, Tencent has deleted the two robots from [the] app,” the firm said. “The group chatbot services of QQ are provided by an independent third -party supplier.”

The chatbots were co-created by Beijing-based Turing Robot Company, based on algorithms from real text message conversations.

The chatty bots were killed off just a few days after Facebook shut down a pair of artificial intelligence robots that invented their own language.

“I can can i i everything else,” one of the bots, dubbed Bob, was caught jabbering to another robot named Alice.

I wonder which bold programmer decided to programme a bot to say 'the Chinese dream is a nightmare'.

Also Microsoft's chat bot got taken down within a day after it became racist, so the Robot Thought Police are clearly an international organisation.

On a side note, I highly doubt that 'democracy is a must' would be one of the phrases that censors objected to the bot saying. Democracy is in the Chinese constitution and is one of the core socialist values that the government likes to promote. It's worth noting that there are different models of democracy. Representation is just one of them.

When all of your choices belong to the same party, is it really a choice?

That's hilarious and slightly disturbing at the same time.

Tanzania has a clause in their constitution that every Tanzanian has the right of education, regardless of gender. The difference between Western values and the rest of the world is that we tend to believe what is written down whereas the rest of the world what is written and what is practiced are always different. The paper might say everyone in China gets access to the government offices, yet bribes are still required, accepted and allowed.

It is for this reason that speeding is the death of democracy. If the limit sign says 100 and somebody consistently drives 110 they are destroying the fabric of Western Civilization.

"difference between Western values and the rest of the world is that we tend to believe what is written down whereas the rest of the world what is written and what is practiced are always different"

"we tend to believe what is written down" definitely agree, but imo thats from being naive.

From the beginning, in the states anyway, "all men created equal" sure, as long as you were not black, hispanic, native, asian or catholic., but after that, sure, all men were/are equal....forget the women.

But true, we believed it.

As for what is "written and what is practiced" how are we different?

Consider our religious institutions, whats written, love, love love, and what happened in our residential schools? government approved rape, torture and murder of our native children. Right up until 1986.

Watch the movie "spotlight" to see how they operate today. geez, consider that we murdered 500 thousand children in Iraq alone.

These are just a couple of examples, but "we tend to believe" thats very true.....

Guess I just dont think we should.

Ok if we shouldn't believe anything written that means you can't appeal to the constitution, it might as well be toilet paper.

Love, love, love isn't a great summary of whats written. "God is Love" does appear twice in one epistle. God approving genocide and racial purity fills much more of the book. Picking and choosing the messages you like because they line up with your values is the wrong way to read the bible. Only focusing on the fire and brimstone side would also be an unbalanced approach. Either way, residential schools have nothing to do with the Bible. That is just common sense objectivist values. The most effective way to destroy a civilization is to assimilate them into your own. The Babylonians tried this on the Jews but other than that, it isn't really contained in the Bible.

You’re still thinking of democracy as if it’s a synonym for representation.

You don’t have to elect someone for them to listen to your views.

my purpose wasnt really to discuss the bible, i was simply trying show we dont really follow what we write.
I could be wrong about the bible containing messages of love and how to treat each other tho, been a long time since I read it.

A better example might have been the idea of "rights" we have the right to this or that, and we dont.

Maybe the idea of spreading democracy, cept the states is a republic, would be a good example, we are lied to constantly.

Many people recall the wmd lie for example, what the gov says or writes has to be taken with salt.

But as I said, I agree with you, it seems western people believe as they are told to believe, "we tend to believe what is written down" I agree with you.
