What are your thoughts on this suggestion?

Leave fog of war alone. The existing option is all I need.

I like the idea of 'heavy' and 'light' fog of war. I'd choose variant (i) of 'light' fog of war.

fog of war - 'heavy' & 'light'

Post by cicero »

Suggestion Idea:
Introduce a second type of fog of war which does not obstruct your view so much.

Specifics:
Fog of war would be either:
"Heavy" - As per the existing setting; only territories adjacent to your own can be seen and you can see which player is there and how many armies are present.

"Light" - Two possibilities: (i) A simple variation on the existing setting; so that territories within two territories of your own can be seen and you can see which player is there and how many armies are present. (ii) Second possibility, which I prefer; those territories immediately adjacent you can see which player is there and how many armies they have. Those territories two territories from your own you can only see which player is there.

Why it is Needed:
Existing fog of war can make you so blind, particularly on larger maps, that the element of chance is increased and hence the element of skill/enjoyment is decreased.

Well, I don't play many Fog games, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I like the idea. The second light option is better, in my opinion.
