archived games.

I have a problem with the so called archived games. once a game is archived, all info. about game should be recorded as is, for posterity. but for some reason it is not. i am specifically referring to players ranks. why, may i ask, are ranks updated in archived games. ? this defeats the whole purpose of the archive. if you wanted to study someones game history, you would want to know the exact info at time of game. when the ranks are updated daily, the archive is corrupted, and this info. is lost. and the entire archive is made useless.
