the map is an ice arena + home / away benches + 2 Penalty boxes there are 3 refs, 4 defenseman, 6 forwards, 2 goalies, 5 spots in each bench, and 1 in each Penalty Box.
Defenseman can attack anyone on ice but not goalies
Forwards can attack anyone on ice
People in PIM box can attack anyone on ice (having 1 person in PIM = -1 army, having 1 person / box = +1 army)
Refs can attack anyone but not goalies, and refs cannot be attacked except by the bench entrance
Benches are like this
pretend the o are spots on map ice arena -> o <- -> o <- -> o <- -> o -> ice arena
I'm willing to do graphics, if someone helps me with XML... I know XML I just dono how the map would fit into that.
somebody tried an ice arena map once, but i dont know what happened to it.... although a sports map would be fun
maybe a baseball map, and the batter can bombard the outfield, the pitcher can attack the catcher and any base, and the outfield can only attack the bases closest to them (left field: third base, center field: 2nd base, right field: 1st base) and maybe also some stadium seats and such
the idea of a sports map has come up many times, so it's clearly a popular one... trouble is nobody seems to follow through and make it happen. That and everybody has a different opinion of what sport should be represented (not that there isn't room for more than one!).
If you think you'll be making an attempt I'll leave this thread here, but if it's just going to remain ideas and sports spam it will be moved to the New Ideas thread.
Run with the hockey idea - sounds cool - and a little different from whats out there now - and each player color could represent a different team - fresh players coming off the bench would give additional armies etc. - nwo44
i like the idea of something sports related. perhaps there could be a combination of all sports on an actual map of NA. If you put all the teams fromt he major 4 sports as territories, that would be 122. Bonuses could include Holding divisions or conferences of sports or whole sports and/or geographic regions, like SoCal, the Bay Area, New York, New England, etc. I like the bonuses being holding conferences for the sports. That's eight bonuses, but a smaller bonus for divisions would also be good.
