top 5 excuses for low ranks?

Those are probably the top 5 in my opinion. Define low rank though...

3. is related to #2 -- I just don't have the time (to get good or to play enough to overcome random bad losses, etc.)

4. would be I play when distracted (by kids, work, etc.)



As for the rest ... "I don't care about points" is more an expression of reality than an "excuse". Some people do, others don't... I am not sure why those who DO care insist that they are necessarily superior in any way to those who do. It IS a game, it IS about fun. Some people don't find listening to a bunch of belittling and name-calling fun. But, we might still like competetive game.

Rank speaks for itself ... either you are happy with yours or you aren't. What does my rank and attitude matter to you?

2. Then why are those people good and you are not? The reason should not be the question.
3. Then join games with lower ranked players, maybe?
4. Well, if you log on 1 time every 24 hours, there is a 100% chance you will take your turn.
5. Not an issue whatsoever. To learn a strategy, you do not require to play many games, you just need brains. Once you learn a strategy, then the role of premium comes into play. If I have a good strategy, and a premium member has a good strategy, we will both gain points but the premium member at a faster rate. There is no excuse for premium/non premium unless you are a high major, then it may take effect.

I personally don't care about points, and I used to be a low rank, my excuse now, looking back on the games I played is I played the wrong types of games.

In 8 player games the 2nd player does not get any point no matter how well he played, but his skill cannot be compared to the first player to be eliminated.
