Well Luke, it's a good concept but you need to work on the graphics – it's very very hard to see what the bonuses are and what connects to what. Please change the background image! (those are my eyes burning out). Also, I think you should use "Blue 1, 2, 3, etc." instead of "Center, Right, etc."
is this really what the foundry has been reduced to? oval wars?
i didn't even know paint maps were allowed... anyways. i like the idea of another small number of territs map, but this is kinda ridic... the background is heinous. there is no bonus structure. i mean you label bonuses, but i don't know what belongs where.

I disagree.
Oaktown, don't tell me you agree with the graphics. Because … well no offense look at it. So … you disagree that it's a good concept? I realize it's not very unique, which is indeed a large aspect of maps, but still … yeah I lost that thought. A revamp or X is in order here. I will talk with the creator if he ever gets back online (hint hint).

I was just being a jackass.
Graphics are, well, let's just say that most first drafts look very little like the final versions, so I try not to get hung up with early graphics. It's the basic concept that I'm not to keen on. I think that there is a place for some more abstract maps at CC, but we already have rectangle wars (aka Classic Art) and a very fun shapes map in King of the Mountains, so an Oval Wars map with classic gameplay doesn't bring anything new to the table.
I was thinking of adding a stand alone Oval that can only be bombarded from three set points. The Oval would be able to attack any other oval on the board. Is this a good idea?
Disclaimer: I do not use any euphemisms in my posts.
I don't think this is even worth getting moved to the drafting room.
1. This will NEVER get the graphics stamp, unless the foundry seriously degrades itself on quality or you get someone to help you. Stick to things you are good at.
2. The gameplay is horrible for several reasons. Firstly, the map is so small that the only purpose of it is for games with all luck, except for some specific settings. Secondly, you have crammed so many bonuses in there, that the largest you could give is a 2, 3 for 3 territories is stretching it already.
3. There is no theme. I do not consider hand-drawing some ovals on paint a theme to a map. I suggest you look at a map other than Classic and Centerscape for inspiration.
4. The army circles should be circles, not rectangles that change in size as you move from one to another.
5. The map is WAY too large.
6. The map foundry specifically says to not use paint as your main tool for creating the map. You would only find it if you look through the threads made about how to make a map, but they say it clearly.
I do not personally make maps because I am not good at it. Some people are good at some things, and not good at others. Stick with something else.

P.S. Sorry if I am being too harsh.
i mean, i would have said the same thing... but i felt bad about the whole "we're scaring noobs away from the foundry b/c we're too harsh" situation, so i wanted to be nice

lol I've talked with sailor much about this in person as well as many other people from CC, and he won't admit that Neon your ideas are correct and this won't get anywhere. *sigh* And please don't worry about being harsh … I myself (at least) find it better criticism on maps.
