Cross wearing Christians

Post by demonfork »

If Jesus were alive today and he fulfilled his destiny today the same way he did 2000 years ago, by what means today would he be executed?

He most certainly would not be executed via hanging on a cross. He most likely would be executed via the electrical chair or by lethal injection.

Here is my question;

If Jesus were alive today and he were to be executed via the electric chair, 2000 years from now do you think that the Christians of that time would wear little electric chairs, with little Jesus' sitting in them, around their necks?

Yes.
Early christians did not use the cross as a ecoration or a symbol because of the shame (it was a criminal punishment) associated with it.

Christians aren't supposed to take part in idolatry or magic. The cross is an idol, and pretending wine and bread becomes his blood and flesh is magic and sorcery. Neither should you have any other gods but the Lord thy God! And Jesus is not a god, but a merciful prophet of Arhaman Arhahim. Peace be upon him.

Islam is the only TRUE religion directed to us by Allah through His messengers (peace be upon them all).

I belive they would not... First of all God has a plan. And if he did have death via electric chair people would probly wear another symbole like an olive brance, dove, lamb... tings that represent peace but after another century i'd have no clue??? :?:

Well spoken. The cross is only a reminder of Christ's death for us and as such it's the most familiar of the symbols used in Christianity (Although the Mormons, I believe, don't use it for exactly the reason you attribute to Early Christians, Jonesy). Doves, olive branches, fish, tongues of flame, etc. have been used as symbols of the faith, but are not themselves worshipped. Hence no idolatry.

I would hope not since they are not Christians.

Hey, Gip?
True Muslims should be teaching and correcting, and restraining their own fanatical sects before critiquing any other organized religion. So should Christians for that matter.

Energies are best spent focusing on the evils done in the name of ones religion rather than chastising others belief structures, or if their icons are in proper context or not.

Considering Christ's death is the most important event in the Christian religion, wearing the cross as a reminder of that sacrifice seems to bear relevance.

If he died via hanging, we'd most likely wear little nooses.

Then again neither are you.
