Estate "Death" Tax

Post by Nobunaga »

... It's coming back in 2010, thank you Mr. President, members of Congress.

... Any thoughts?

Yeah, it sucks!

If I die and want to leave my family all of my worldly possessions, the leaches of society have no right to take them from my family. Pray for the pendulum of Liberty to return to the right side of its arch... criminals have stolen this country, and now they are after the wallets of he hard working!
wake up. This is the end game.

Id rather have some taxes coming back around when we clearly are going to be spending bajillions than not have the taxes. If the tax cuts in general hadnt expired in 2010, i think we would have really handcuffed anything good (assuming you believe its good) that this administration could have put together.

Unless you subscribe to the argument that debt is no big deal, which it might not be.

You should have taught your family to be good, honest capitalists who get rich by their own hard, honest work and don't have to depend on you to see them through college and keep them fed.

While the way that this robs people of their final decision on how to spend their own money, it is the damage that it does to small, family-owned businesses that is the real killer. The tax makes it prohibitively expensive to pass the company on from one generation to another.

I suspect MeDeFe is being sarcastic, but as I've said before - 100% estate tax; down with the aristocrats.

Unfortunately, there is no one who will ever be elected to office that will impose a comprehensive estate tax, because even the vast majority of Democrats, party for the little people, are wealthy and would like to pass their wealth on to their children.

No one paid my way through school. I did that on my own. Turns our, it was all a waste anyway. I use none of the principles that were taught me in school, as they pertain to my profession. Yes, honest work is the only sound way to make your living in this world.

Also, people shouldn't generalize either... All capitalists are not bad, just some... likewise not all socialists are good... just a few!

I practically used your own words c.c, in one of the other threads you proposed that people should take their wealth into the grave and teach their kids to get by on their own instead of depending on their parents rather than bequeathing anything. Now you say you want to leave your worldly possessions to your family. Make up your mind and then live what you preach.

Really? Damn, it gets confusing when several new posters join at the same time.

Well, hopefully I won't be a new poster for long. Although, at our current rate, I will continue to be a new poster. I doubt I will ever reach that awe-inspiring plateau of 4000+ posts. I guess it's common for new posters to be the subject of ridicule, though I fail to see a correlation between a new poster and a stupid post.

It's true. The hazing sucks. But you have an advantage on me... my first post was agreeing that the Amero was a real possablity in the future. I was supporting this by a video I had seen of Vicente Fox saying that it had been in the works for years. Only a little later then did I find out that Vicente Fox was confused by the question, and was talking about a South American Union, not a North American one. Which of course, changed my view completely. But still made me look like a crazy nutter to everyone else.
But you'd be suprised how quickly your post count can increase. Though posts in off topics don't count.

Also, shut up stupid n00b. You're not as good as us.

Yeah, whats up with that? I think I have been witness to something special. DaGip, Cola, Mustard, Suggs... they are all gone.... and now we have the new crop.... You would think there would be all sorts of new and exciting topics being posted too.
