I've played on so many online games where everything gets reset to 0 at the end of a round and its pointless.

I see what you are saying. So a user can play without fearing losing, because they know that after they get good they can reset their points and start over. I think it's a good idea, if there was some sort of penalty... perhaps it says on your profile how many times you reset your account, or perhaps it can cost $5 or something. Users can, probably not legally, start a new account as it is, and that would reset their points in a way, so I think having a point reset option once every 6 months or something, wouldn't be too bad of an idea, it just saves people from making new accounts, so they can keep their posts and names.

I think you will have to as my points (or rank) has no bearing at all on the level of excitement I get from the games I play.

I cannot see why a point reset would make things exiting... It's not that the whole gameplay would change with a point reset, and eventually the same players will get is the top 250 again...

this will never happen because you cant delete old games, your old games with your current id would always be there... just make a multi so you can get busted....

That would be awesome, Here's what I would do Waffle, go put that idea in Suggestions forum. I'd think it would be sweet to have a monthly scoreboard added. People would gain interest, and play more games, and such.

As for the topic, I don't like the idea. I don't see how 'starting over' makes the game more exciting or are people really that obsessed with rank?

Some people want to build it all again, just like with legos build it then start over.

A monthly scoreboard is a good idea too.As for point resets.I think they should be reset once a year and the Conqueror be recorded as CC Champion for 2008 etc with a shiny new medal.
This will make the site more interesting and more competitive

That's unfair for the people who join at different times of the year, for the scores to all be reset. Some players are proud of their games played, win percentage, and score. Some people work really hard to get their score where it is.

Perhaps it may be unfair but if a notice was given, people would be given a fair warning to prepare for that. Agreed. A lot of players work really hard to get to where their scores are, but it could be argued they are very selective, by simply playing team games. Imagine if the top players would have their points reset, and then be forced to play a lot of 1 vs. 1 to get their points back up? The whole point of this idea was to make CC a more competitive site. And, to be honest...if that happened, then you wouldn't see a lot of players whine about games.
