Tournament Structure
Qualifying Round
38 players are playing, with the top 10 on points progressing to the Final Round. Only wins count.
Each player will play 8 matches as follows:
1 x 1 vs 1 matches - map "Doodle Earth"
3 x 3 player matches - map "British Isles"
4 x 4-or-5 player matches - maps "Oceania" (4-player) and "North America" (5-player)
In the event of players finishing on equal number of wins for the final qualifying position(s), a 1-match play-off will take place on the Doodle Earth map. Finishing positions will determine who qualifies.
Final Round
10 Players will each play 4 matches as follows:
Match 1: 1 vs 1 - map "British Isles" (winner 1 pt)
Match 2: 4 players - map "Oceania" (winner 3 pts, runner-up 1 pt)
Match 3: 4 players - map "Oceania" (winner 3 pts, runner-up 1 pt)
Match 4: 5 players - map "North America" (winner 5 pts, runner-up 2 pts)
The player with most points will be declared the winner
In the event of players finishing on equal points for first place, a 1-match play-off will take place on the Doodle Earth map.
The top 5 players will progress to the InterLingua Babel tournament

Reserves

In the qualifying round, reserves will be recruited through the tournament forum if required. The first reserve to respond will gain a place.
For the final round, players just missing out on qualification will be offered any openings that may occur.

Joining Games

Players must join invitations or send a PM to explain why they can't join - in which case they have 5 days to make themselves available to join. Failure to comply will result in being ejected from the tournament.

If a match is not complete at the end of 24 rounds then points will be shared by the players in the final round. In the qualifying round there will be no winner.

Players will be matched against each other randomly.

Players must inform the tournament organiser if they have a regular partner or opponent that is also featuring in the tournament. The organizer can then ensure these players do not play together to avoid any potential claims of foul play by other players.
If reports of suspected foul play are made and the players in question have not declared that they are regular partners / opponents then they will be both be ejected from the tournament without question or the need for irrefutable evidence.
