Re: Kamikaze....is it really a good final move?

I'm not saying that strategy ISN't important....I accept that it is.

However, my point is that because the dice on CC relies on random number generation statistics and odds are not applicable. You can say that the odds of getting a six from one dice roll are one in six irl...however, a TRULY ...

Re: Kamikaze....is it really a good final move?

I very much agree that strategy is extremely important. Bad strategy can cause you to lose even if luck is on your side and good strategy save youo even when luck isn't on side.

That said because CC works with random numbers (after all it is the only way it can work) it is different from risk. You ...

Re: Kamikaze....is it really a good final move?

Okay...so I think it is agreed that the strategy isn't a strategy at all and thus just a bad move....so here's to the reason I asked.

I was told by a high ranking person on CC that this is a good strategy. Having played RISK irl and seeing how the games are played here I disagreed, however, my rank ...

5 Star ratings?

I have a quick question about the rating system.

Anything that I rate or review I have the same system/mindset....only give something top marks if it is outstanding and better than the best. However, a response left to one of the ratings I left asked why not 5 stars...whilst the person beat me I ...

Re: Map Of England V1.2 PG 1+4 (poll to keep scotland and wales)

The regions that are known to people in the UK and England would be:

East Midlands
London
North East
North West
South East (Home counties)
South West (Westcountry)
West Midlands
Yorkshire and the Humber
East of England (East Anglia)

Re: Map Of England(poll to keep scotland and wales)

With the continents...whilst the diagram two posts up is good...why cause yourself the trouble? If you just say 8 continents/regions then you already have the divide for reference and you can concentrate on the more important things?

Re: Map Of England(poll to keep scotland and wales)

Maybe an inset with the other 'english' places so they don't feel left ie - Northern Ireland, Jersey etc ..

Northern Island is not part of England though. It is British (which it shouldn't be, but let's not go there)....if anything N. Ireland should have been included on the UK map. Further the ...

Re: Map Of England(poll to keep scotland and wales)

Put Merseyside back! You can't offend those scousers! Especially not with liverpool as captial of culture...they'll eat you alive they will.

On a serious note the Scotland/Wales...keep them.

Don't oversimplfy....the biggest thing I dislike about the current UK map is how inacurate it is put ...

If there's just one other person left....I mean it may be possible there's still some neutrals around hence 'all or most of the map'

Re: Map Of England (idea now)

Sorry...I think your regions (continents) are messed up.....go with the standard ones...(see my previous post) they look better and will provide better play I think.

Re: Kamikaze....is it really a good final move?

I for one would put you on foe the second you did that to anyone in a game. I know you're asking for help so I shouldn't be so harsh, but you might want to realize it most likely contributes to the reason you're a cook.

Or of course it could just be that people are better than me.

But serious ...

Re: Map Of England

I would say the regions should be:

North - Northumberland, Cumbria, Durhum, N. Yorkshire, S Yorkshire, E Yorkshire, W Yorkshire

North West - Lancs, Merseyside, Cheshire, Mancs

Borderlands - Shropshire, Herefodshire, Gloustershire

Westcountry - Cornwall, devon, somerset, dorset

East Anglia ...

Kamikaze....is it really a good final move?

Okay so here's the real question:

When I am down facing overwhelming odds I like to take my biggest stack and just blow through the opponent in the hope that I might actually get lucky. This can sometimes take away valuable bonuses and punch holes in the opponent's defence that others might be able ...

Tournament Idea - Feedback requested

I'd like to have a crack at organising a tournament. I recently ran one on a different site and would like to try one here. So I have two idea for tournaments and would like some feedback. Both ideas are quite different from each other...one is simple and the other is complex.

Re: [Official] British Isles P50 [I, GP, Gr, X] [Final Forge]

I still think that the mountains between Glous and Gwent are wrong. The malverns are further north (they are in the midlands( west midlans and powis maybe?)...quite a bit further north. Even if you were to have offa's dyke between wales and england it does stretch down that far...

Also the Land's ...

Re: Hack Attack [Revived]

Okay, I have worked on the idea that the map should be a computer screen display. I have added little computer screens to give an idea. I also intend to add a 'hacker's toolkit display' to place the map instructions in. There is still some work to do but here is a list of the changes to gameplay ...

Re: Hack Attack

Thanks for the tip. I was considering something like that myself. After trying a 'normal' map it just was not working. I'm going to try straight lines and angles rather than curves. I'm going to attempt to make the map look like a computerised display.

I have a concept sketch on first post now. I have also worked a few textures for areas, and a computer screen for the terminals. I'd like to know what people think of the colours of the textures please.

Re: Hack Attack?

As interesting and great as that concept would be my XML is not great and I think I'd really struggle to get it all done without help. I do like that idea though. I have also rethought the positioning.

I would have an outline map of the world. very simple blue sea, green land. No country outlines ...
