Yep, there are a few maps that they stole. tisk tiskowenshooter wrote:you left out how they steal maps from CC... the black jesus has spoken...-0
Oh no I didn't leave that out.owenshooter wrote:you left out how they steal maps from CC... the black jesus has spoken...-0
The map is a graphical representation of something and is under the copyright of the mapmaker … CC has no authority over the map. It can only be published as long as the maker wants to, and the maker can take it anywhere (but no one from here has).jpliberty wrote:Oh no I didn't leave that out.owenshooter wrote:you left out how they steal maps from CC... the black jesus has spoken...-0
ONLY AN IDIOT would suggest that is the case.
Or, have you not pondered the Hasbro communication with CC?
Do you think Hasbro was in the right? If so, explain to me why CC had to cede the map when it IS a map of the world.
And, once you get into that area, tell me why CC cartograpers somehow create something unique because they "redraw" or somehow get wrong the shape of a coastline.
COME ON.
You CANNOT steal a map of fixed geography. CANNOT happen.
And, as always, SCREW the black jesus.

really? cannot? that asia map they have sure does have the same colours and gameplay asjpliberty wrote: You CANNOT steal a map of fixed geography. CANNOT happen.

Which maps were you looking at? The ones I saw looked like they were made with MSPaint, using only the freehand, and fill tools.jpliberty wrote:the only one really needing mention is the map resolution. FAR superior over there to what one gets here.
i believe that one was called "garbage earth" and the other is "canadian landfill"... absolute garbage maps... the black jesus has snickered...-0Timminz wrote:Which maps were you looking at? What does "lifted" have to do with it?owenshooter wrote:really? cannot? that asia map they have sure does have the same colours and gameplay asjpliberty wrote: You CANNOT steal a map of fixed geography. CANNOT happen.

the asia map that is here... oh, they put up some crappy pointed mountain graphics,
and that is the only difference... stolen... period. but, if you love it so much, bye!!!
the black jesus finds your blatant support of that joke site hilarious...-0
p.s.-that is only one of SEVERAL lifted maps from CC... and the choice of maps and
game play on CC blows that site out of the water... and our coffee mugs are better
too!!!
p.p.s.-please tell me how bamboo jack, age of merchants, world 2.0, arctic, berlin, etc,
are lifted from somewhere else... please, explain this to me...
still waiting to hear how the direct asia theft is not stealing a map. just because you saw one before the other is not a valid argument. one was created before the other, the other is stolen. guess who has stolen it? yeah, your best friends at suckfest.com... the black jesus is waiting for the lock from above...-0jpliberty wrote:The other maps you mention are superflous to this argument. I would expect more from the black jesus, if I didn't know the nature of the Beast.

MAPS of the world, or of parts of the world CANNOT carry a copyright...or, am I stupid? NO. NO way. You CANNOT claim copyright over taking a picture of Mt. Everest because someone beat you to it. And, so too here. You CANNOT claim that these maps are your maps. Cannot be done, very simple. Maps are maps, when they reflect actual territorial boundaries ("actual" meaning those which exist or have existed in the real world") those boundaries CANNOT be claimed as intellectual property.the.killing.44 wrote:The map is a graphical representation of something and is under the copyright of the mapmaker … CC has no authority over the map. sooo, if you were over there first, why did you spend so much time over here? i guess this is your farewell? see ya!!!-0jpliberty wrote:Of course, and thankfully, I am not burdened with the logical limitations of the black jesus.

So, I want to ask you, is Hasbro right in going after CC?niMic wrote:I created an account, and it seems like half their maps are direct copies (probably simply snatched) from CC. Germany, North America, Asia, British Isles, Italy, Africa, etc. And whoever said that there cannot be copyright on this is dead wrong. Someone else already pointed out that it's not the simple "geographical map" which is the matter, but rather the graphics. Some of those maps are maps made by people at CC, and who as far as I know haven't given that site permission to use their graphics.
IF, IF, IF, Hasbro can go after CC, they CAN go after the users of CC. It is that simple...or are you to simple to understand that?jpliberty wrote:So, I want to ask you, is Hasbro right in going after CC?niMic wrote:I created an account, and it seems like half their maps are direct copies (probably simply snatched) from CC. To use your logic, it's a slamdunk for Hasbro. To use my logic it is not.
You decide.
And, whatever either of us does, let's sure as hell avoid the logic of the black jesus.
If CC used identical graphics to what Hasbro created, then yes, they have a case. It's not a case of "my logic or your logic", it's a case of copyright law. I'm no lawyer, so I could well be wrong on some points, but I'm pretty sure the issue here are the graphics, which is also why CC had to give up Classic.jpliberty wrote:So, I want to ask you, is Hasbro right in going after CC?niMic wrote:I created an account, and it seems like half their maps are direct copies (probably simply snatched) from CC. you mean avoid the questions i put forth that you have no answer to, be honest... again, show me how those maps i listed have anything to do with hasbro. and explain to me how half a dozen of the maps on your superior site are not directly stolen from CC.. and also, i don't remember anything about hasbro or copyright being in your OP, so please stay on topic. if you want to discuss lawsuits/hasbro/copyright, start a new thread. this one is about the superior site, not hasbro. i owned you, i owned your "logic", i gave sound examples of how flawed your thought process is, and you have ZERO REBUTTAL... go back to your other site with your tail between your legs, because your garbage is not flying here... the black jesus has made you look foolish...-0jpliberty wrote:And, whatever either of us does, let's sure as hell avoid the logic of the black jesus.

Well, that settles it then. If there ever was really anything to settle, for most of us.StiffMittens wrote:You are stupid.jpliberty wrote:MAPS of the world, or of parts of the world CANNOT carry a copyright...or, am I stupid?
