I don't like movies just for special effects. I just think that a few movies have spectacular special effects.
but unlike me no matter how good the special effects are does not make a good movie call me old fashion but for me i feel that special effects are cool in movies but there are too many movies that use special effects way too much. i may just be too smart for all that flashy stuff. don't get me wrong with good actors, a good plot i would love to see special affects but lately it seems like they only care about either a good plot and acting abilities or they go for the special effects shitty acting and worse plot. that's why i did not watch nor will i ever watch AVATAR . that is my position.
To prove that effects can't make a movie all on their own, you just have to see the final Indiana Jones movie...

I found myself thinking "Jeez, if they'd spent as much thought on the plot as the effects, it'd be watchable." The effects weren't innovative, but they were spectacular.

We're gonna have to disagree there. Execution of said plot is just as important as teh plot itself so:

bad plot + great execution=at best a decent movie
Great plot + poor execution=at best a decent movie.

Again you're beef with Star Wars is only the acting. Bad acting alone should not make a movie's quality go down as much as you think it should. The actual plot and execution was good the acting subpar.

George locus is a horrible director his execution of the plot was crappy. it really did suck seeing how writing and acting go in to the execution of the plot. they are interconnected

Oh, I thought you were talking about the original Star Wars by George LUCAS.

I'll come back when I try to understand what the hell Target is saying...and anyways aren't we listening to someone's viewpoints about movies who claimed not to like the Godfather while admitting he had never actually seen the movie?

I also feel compelled to say the following:

Original Star Wars: Great movies

the New Star Wars: Crappy movies with various highlights such as Yoda fighting.
