That being said, I've been to Detroit and it was a horrible experience.

hmm.. and here I thought we were supposed to be giving bad recommendations.
(and since when are rednecks liberal, anyway?)

Ol' Saxi used to live on 78th between 3rd & Lex and, verily, it was dreadful. Of course, that was 20 years ago so perhaps it's changed since then. So much noise, and so many people, and garbage, and odors and whozit and whatzit and this and that and comings and goings.
Ol' Saxi is quite happy in Santa Barbara. It reminds him of growing up back in Saxony, except with better weather, a nicer landscape, more voluptuous women, greater entertainment options, finer wine, no bomb damage and spelled differently.

Ahh a fellow vet, good to meet you sir!
I remember well my time in the Foo King Bush, a miserable place filled with scorpions and land-mines.
What regiment were you BK? I was 55th Airborne.

I'm familiar with the 101st, 82nd and 173rd Airborne but i can't remember the 55th. I was with the 75th Rangers. If you were a medic over there you have my undying respect.
