keiths, what is the gang rate up there in Canada? I don't know those numbers for either country, but I think it's safe to say that we have more gangs in the US. And with gangs comes an increase in crimes, especially violent crimes. Similar with drug dealers here in the US.

All of which is created almost exclusively by the War on Drugs.

We have a War on Drugs up in Canada too. Drug busts all the time. Gangs in every big city (including smaller cities like mine) and yet the murder rate it still much, much lower in Canada. In fact Canada is one of the leading suppliers of drugs (mostly pot from BC) to the USA. My city had the highest crime rate in the country for a few years and was the murder capital of Canada per capita during that time as well. Funny thing was all those murders were carried out without the help of a gun or firearm. If our gun laws were more like the USA, I fear we would have more murders with guns and more murders overall.

So gangs are in both countries, but yet murder rate is lower in Canada.

So, the lawyer seems to claim that the man is innocent. did this come out after some new evidence was brought forth? In which case, those who are saying "He's one less idiot on the streets" sound like total jerks.

I say if you kill someone, you deserve to die.. Capital punishment WORKS! heck, nowadays you kill someone and sometimes guys walk after 8 years... you want to lower murder rates? Have the death penalty for anyone who murders anyone else....

yeah, because it's exactly that simple.

true you will run into snags, but Hey! you really want the freakin murder rates to go down? Enact harsher punishments.. It works for Thousands of years, Why change something that works? Capital Punishment will make a big difference..... I was raised on a quote " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" .. so you Murder someone in cold blood, heck, expect to die.. you wonder why the murder rate has gone up? its because the people arent afraid of the justice system anymore.. that and no conscience..

That is easily the most fucked-up, twisted perspective of the Golden Rule that I have ever seen in my life.

Whatever.. if this was enacted, the murder rate would drop drastically, but no one really cares, they don't think it will happen to them so who cares about everyone else.. if you know without a shadow of a doubt that this guy killed a lady or a kid or whatever, there should be no question about what he deserves..

But first be sure to sue because the drugs being used for your execution may not be humane. f*ck criminals. Kill them.
