The Conservatives will lower spending on public services and cut taxes. This will give me more money to spend on goods and services.

This is better than Labour, who will raise taxes to fund more government spending on services. This would leave me with less money, and therefore less wealth with which to purchase goods and services.

I have also read several newspaper articles on Labour's plan to increase employment and I am sceptical about the economic feasability of their plans.

The classes I took where the professors spent 100% of their time changing students party affiliation were English Composition (lib'd out) and Minnesota Geography (lib'd out). The Logic class was 100% changing religious affiliations(lib'd out).

You'd imagine with such high income taxes + central planning, the people of the UK would experience a much higher standard of living than Americans.

People earning over £150k per year are a very small percentage of the population.

Given the income difference between the US and UK, I'd imagine that the US government raises more tax revenue per capita than the UK one. The tax bands for middle and low earners (i.e. the majority of the population) aren't that different between the two countries.

So it would make sense that the US has a higher standard of living (although, somehow, the US government is unable to support the ill or unemployed to the extent that the UK government does).

This is all on average, of course. My standard of living is sweet so IDC.

Better accents and nicer suits.
Lighter tax burden on high earners.
Less whiny.
More old school. Less PC.
Don't like the unions.
Innate sense of superiority.
Hotter female MPs.

Cons:
A slightly excessive amount are ex-boarding school perverts.
