Does Spamalot have a negative effect on the forum?

In the short time I was here, spamalot warmly greeted me, and corrected some of my mistakes in posting,

Call me ignorant if you will, but what is this lag that you speak of when referring to the multiple smilies? Does it have to do with being on dialup? or running a pentium 2 machine, because a modern connection and hardware should have no problem with a few pages of smilies.

I was trying to be a jackass with a smile. Of course I opened those pages, and experienced nothing. I opened a dozen copies of those pages before my browser started lagging, slightly each time I went to open another, I opened thirty copies before it started taking a few seconds to start the animation. And I opened one hundred copied before I got bored of clicking a link, so I decided to play wow for a few minutes to help stress test my system.

That is a totally huge quote which fills me with no small sense of awe. I am so glad I could replicate it just one more time for everybody's benefit, because otherwise how could they ever have understood what I was commenting on?

Although, to stay on topic, I would just like to say that I think quote-whoring is far more detrimental to the forums than thread-jacking, because it is less funny, but equally frustrating to the purpose of the OP.
