wow, a lot happen in the last two days. glad to see though that i'm not the only one coming back after the weekend feeling like i missed a lot.

my last post was saying that Hjelp was pushing too hard about sonic's soft claim. ostensibly, that puts me on sonic's side at that point. but re-thinking that idea based on a few things.

ragian's long, detailed post. sonic's response to that screams of "i can't argue the content so i'll attack the delivery"

sonic's explanation of his soft claim.:

Soft-claiming means hinting at your role without explicitly stating it.

When your soft claiming you’re trying to give enough information that town players can pick up on it and maybe trust you, but scum can’t be 100% sure what you are either.

It can also bait scum into mistakes / scum might react nervously to this (hinting at more info).

i don't see how a soft claim can get townies to trust you but confuse scum. if you're vague enough, both sides are unsure. if you give enough detail to get the town's trust, you've also given enough detail to get scum attention.

on another topic that has come up. i've already stated my opinion that i would only vote for a D1 lynch if someone is clearly suspicious. so by corollary, i don't see any benefit to lynching an inactive. admittedly, i'm working under the assumption here that they aren't deliberately avoiding the game to hide their role. i'm assuming they're inactive due to real life things keeping them away. and that can affect townie as easily as it affects scum. so it would be a lynch that's based on literally zero information about the game and their role.

I'm not pushing, I'm reading what is written. As it is writen I interpret it as
- that you (Ragian) is one of the "we" and you're saying implicit when deciding on whom to nightkill.
-"When deciding" gramarly refers to we?
- -> when we deciding on whom to nightkill?

Catching up a bit but I agree in Ragian's thoughts that limiting claims is a good idea but thats the game premise anyways. I was reading through on Sonic trying to catch more on the softclaim but keep hitting the same wall in my head and started with Ragian comment on charle and missed the second line when reading through today

I missed a lot over the weekend, @Loose, can we get a vote count please?

I is too early to start pointing fingers at this time for me, but Sonic's sort of soft claim gives him a lot of leverage should anybody comes up with a similar role, therefore I would say it is a bit scummy to me, but not definite, knowing Sonic's play style.

I am new to this site Ragian, brand new! Always the excuse people use anyway.

We have the two camps normally, Traf with his no vote day 1 for his reasons and EW who always say we need to vote day 1 so that you play first before scum, not giving scum the first move. Personally, I don't mind either but we need to start voting to get a claim out or at least getting the game going. So at this stage I will jump on the wagon with Sonic and Vote djfireside. All for a bandwagon but the person you were following on the bandwagon quickly got off cause it was a joke but you stayed on and even pushed it afterwards but saying its too early to start pointing fingers but that you are on a bandwagon that lost its driver. Also, shortly after in the same wagon followed kong with a similarly strange reasoning

As always, I am all for lynching day 1 as it gives town the most information and doesn't simply give up the day for no compensation. Vote SoN!c for claiming suspicion on the only 100% confirmed townsfolk to me and not answering my question!

--Ragian more sus because I don't think son!c giving one example of a power role after being asked is at all the same as admitting to anything. Now we got ragian saying "newbie caught you out" when that's not what happened. I consider that a potentially misleading mischaracterization. Hjelp said a similar thing in what felt more just provocative than like attempting to establish a narrative.

--Kingm more sus because I don't like that one time he said "let's all vote for riskmaster." "Let's all" should come after even a little consensus building efforts. And that other time when he said "lol super sus" to sonic not immediately throwing out an accusation when I came at him. Could not saying "nuh uh, you are sus!!" be a mafia ploy to charm a chatty player? Maybe, but there's only so many moves there and I think sonic chose one of the less sus options

--And of course our silent players. Forever sus.

Im already convinced your scum because your massive frame-up attack, with you stitching up a whole lot of trivial things to point out im scum n°1 when you very well know it's just my play style.. that's bad and can only have ulterior motives that in turn can only be attributed to a scum alignment.

So "don't argue with a sealion*1". Because the sealion will drag you down to his foolish level then beat you with experience.. It's just a bunch of repetitive, bad-faith, or tangential questions that move the goalposts*2.

*1: Sealioning is insincere, relentless questioning for basic, widely known, or tangential points. Your questions are not sincere but just designed to one purpose : "Look at SoN!c, don't look at me" or changing the subject (moving the goalsposts).

@Charle, I named a few other players who have caught my eye (because Son!c is convinced, for whatever reason, that I'm solely targetting him) and I wanted his views on that, but alas to no avail. I've lost count on how much he has dismissed now just to sit on his throne of OMGUS.
