Bisk: the game of kitchen domination

Post by Evil DIMwit »

How's this for a map:

The territories are all different food ingredients that, in different combinations, make different types of soup. The more complicated and favorable the soup, of course, the more armies a player gets for holding all of the ingredients. In the map's legend is a large list of recipes.

Recipes may have optional ingredients, indicated as such in the recipe list, that add to the soup's army value.

Each ingredient itself might be comprised of a small continent -- one to three territories. Ingredients' proximity would be part of what determines the recipe's bonus.

A bit of a stretch, I know, but it's worth it for the name.

It would be similar but there's plenty of room for distinction, I think.

Better than the current title (no offense evil).

i really don't see the pun. now if BISK meant something related to cooking it would have been nice.

like "Wisk: a game of kitty domination"

anyway the idea sounds interesting. and i'm actually curious on the graphics part

Is it referring to Bisque?

Pronounced the same as Bisk.

The name is enough to make this idea good, you'd better start looking for recipes, I'm looking forward to a healthy soup within one month.

I'll think about it. It might take a while to think up the whole layout.

I liked "whisk" more.

On a different note, this would be a cool idea. However, you're right; it would take a while to lay it out so that it was playable. A lot of thought would need to go into where each and every ingredient is placed.

Particularly with my limited culinary expertise. If the map went according to my style of cooking, all the territories would be instant soup packets.

I don't suppose there's anyone here that knows how to make a good bisque?

Yes evil....there are many good recipes out there on the web....a good seafood bisque would be a good brew....use a bunch of celery as three or four terts....some mussuls as another 4 or 5, a lobster as 4 or 5 etc. etc.
would be kewl!
